Initially, this Marina garden was close to the water with a large and unruly planting bed in the way. The client specification was for us to install a Western Cape fynbos garden and to open up the area to allow for access to the water.
Our first task was to build a new retaining wall near the water that had a flat edge. After removing the previous bed, we levelled the ground and laid lawn to open the garden up to the vlei. We neatened up the shape of the new bed areas and planted predominantly coastal fynbos to suit the locale.
